Fixed Wire Testing
The Electricity at work Regulations 1989 place a ‘Duty of Care’ on employers and landlords to maintain all electrical systems and ensure any risk of danger is identified and remedied. The easy way to control this is to run a periodic electrical
test and inspection which fulfils these duties imposed on the body responsible, and ensures all relevant obligations under the Health and Safety Act are met and more importantly increases the safety of all parties involved.
Safety Check can deliver all your safety requirements with Fixed Wire Installations at very competitive rates.
Safety Check can deliver all your safety requirements with Fixed Wire Installations at very competitive rates.
We use only qualified Engineers to complete the work and provide full Periodic Inspection Reports online once we have completed the inspection. The client has their own personal account with Safety Check which is used throughout the contract to log, report
and communicate on any given job. If this is not adequate then one of our dedicated team is available to resolve any issue you may have.
Fixed Wire Testing is the procedure designed to test all parts of a specific fixed wire installation and will check for any faults or potential hazards which could cause fire or an electric shock. The IEE Wiring regulation BS7671 is the standard set for these inspections. Inspections take approximately 15 minutes per circuit and the amount of circuits will vary on the size of the premises. There may be an impact at work during testing due to periods of downtime on specific circuits. We always discuss a plan of action to ensure minimal time is lost during this process and good communication ensures targets are achieved.
The process of Fixed Wire Testing includes a full visual inspection where possible and a series of electronic tests on the installation/circuit which determines the standard and the safety of the system. Similar to PAT but more in depth, a full periodic report is produced on the test results and any faults found are logged and rated under its correct code;
